Maintenance Scheduler

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Scheduler will assist the Director of Maintenance (DOM) for all CATS Maintenance activities. The Maintenance Scheduler shall act as the formal liaison between Operations, Maintenance and Supply Chain.

As assigned by the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Scheduler will be responsible to ensure the following:


  • Liaise with Operations for all tasking’s and mission planning;
  • In collaboration with the DOM, manage the technician labour availability and direct labour allocation to safely meet operational requirements;
  • Participate in planning maintenance activities with the Base / Deployment Leads and flight operations;
  • Provide support to deployments and deployment leads as required;
  • Identifying problem components and mitigating AOG’s through maintenance decisions;
  • Assign maintenance duty officer (MDO) on a rotating schedule;
  • Act as the travel coordinator for all non-deployment maintenance requirements;
  • Act as the maintenance representative in Operations;
  • Prepare and present daily aircraft status brief during daily OPS meeting;
  • Manage assigned projects and deliverables;
  • Perform general administrative duties as required by the DOM;
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, agendas, minutes and correspondence;
  • Follow-up with operation coordinators to make sure that travel arrangements are made in a timely manner for maintenance technicians going on deployments;
  • Track various maintenance items such as mod progress, inverters, travel pods, customer pods (when pod agreement is in place), and other items as directed by the DOM;
  • Allocate, track and consolidate overtime and provide a report to the DOM each month;
  • Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 3-5 years of aviation related experience;
  • Previous Aviation Scheduling experience, an asset;
  • Oral and written communication skills, both English and French;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers;
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Experience with AMS (Aircraft Management System), an asset;
  • Ability to understand the technical aspects of the projects in order to allocate the resources appropriately
  • Ability to understand the financial implications of resource allocation before choosing the best plan to recommend
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Positive, professional attitude, identify and resolve issues proactively with minimal supervision

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Occasional travel required
  • Position requires Controlled Goods Clearance and Level 2 Secret Clearance
